Network Bar Generator: Easily link your sites together
Network Bar Generator provides a bar which you can place at the top of your websites which links them all together. This is an easy way for your visitors to easily navigate between your sites.

The odds are that you, like myself, have a few websites and have difficulty tastefully connecting them together. For example, I run Webby’s World (this blog), Webby’s Arcade (a turnkey script which now generates good traffic) and BlogsBlog; the only place where my sites are linked together is on the Webby’s Network homepage.

Sadly, the way the bar works is through drop down lists when I think it would be much more chic if you could use FavIcons as a method of navigation. The drop down lists do limit the flexibility of the network bar but you can place up to 3 drop downs on it (one for example could have sponsors in, another your profiles on external sites and another your external sites).

Creating a network bar is done through a simple form where you fill in your desired colours, text, choose a font and input the links. I would appreciate the ability to add a logo to the bar as well as a ‘live preview’ which constantly updates instead of having to click preview. Previews of what the fonts look like, or indeed names, would be more useful than ‘Font 1′ etc.

The site has a nice colour scheme, though, and a good design but a bit of JavaScript would make it fantastic (i.e. clicking ‘add a row’ forces the page to refresh).

I’m glad this site approached me because I was planning on building a network bar and this site helps me do so :) . I do wonder how they make a profit though, as I don’t see a revenue generating method!

It’s a great idea and I hope this review doesn’t appear to be negative as I’m sure Network Bar Generator is still a very new start-up :)
