I can understand why one would pay for flickr as it does give extra space for photos but unless you're actually selling them then why not just upload a selection of the best ones. 

As for lastfm I didn't even know they had a premium service. What in the world does that offer that's value for money - do you get to see what madonna or britney is listening to - or access to even more useless metrics!?

I'm happy not to be ashamed on my ignorance because as far as I'm concerned, given that I've used lastfm and flickr for over a year I should know. It' not a matter of me not being hip to the jive but rather their lack effective marketing.

So to answer your question - not much! I either don't know what these sites offer at premium level or I don't care. I tend to only use these big social network sites to get a bigger footprint anyway - I don't 'like' them as such.</description>
