categoriz

categorizcategoriz is a site with a very big list of Web 2.0 sites. All these sites are visible on one page, in you’ve guessed it categories :D .

I’ve used the site recently as a source to get things to write about. I find this useful, as before this I used to have to browse del.icio.us for hours.

You can suggest sites to be added, though it involves manually sending an email. I would personally love to see an AJAX form. Strangely enough, the site uses no AJAX whatsoever, and in my opinion it would be nice to add some to the search box, for example.

Personally, I like the design. It is extremely simple, and you can get information you are after in a matter of seconds.

  1. Nice. Wish I could ‘Turbo DTA’ these all at once into my blinklist. Then again, there would be no fun in discovering some of these utterly unknown but ok sites. Still, what’s with the digit/name thing? Maybe I should call my blog 77 Posts or something as a joke.

  3. Thanks Joe for the write-up. We are actually working on an Ajax version of Categoriz. We are starting with the Search functionality first. I hope to wrap it up towards the end of this month.

    Cheers.

  4. Of course, google also “copied” the basic concept of search engine – but did they do it better? I submit that they did (emphasis on did, but now?) do it better. Can they add value to this copied idea?

Also, I think instances like this show the potential monopoly powers that google may weild – just like Microsoft did back in the early 90s.
