Kamambe

is a service which generates a userscript, which customises Google, for both and . The site itself has an extremely clean layout, and though it has no Ajax, it is very Web 2.0 .

For those of you who don’t know, a userscript is a piece of JavaScript which goes into a web browser customising websites viewed in it. User scripts are very useful, as they can do anything from removing ads to completely redesigning a website!

On Kamambe, you select what tabs you want to be displayed (such as Scholar, Mail, Video, Blog Search, Images, News and Groups) and also if you want any other search engines, such as A9, to be added. You then choose if you want a Firefox or Opera userscript.

However, I have two moans:

  • The userscript isn’t compatible with Google Redux, which is understandable.
  • When you generate a userscript, you have to download it. I would think this is due to Mime types and problemsit would cause with Opera. Nonetheless, instructions are provided.

  3. No need to moan, I’m working on making a completely customizable version of the Google Redux. It will be out within the next day or so, hopefully.

    Also, Happy Birthday apparently!
