Little slow on the mark on this story, Sarah wrote about it nearly a fortnight ago (female blogger number one), but Box.net is a Web 2.0 website which allows you to upload files and access them anywhere on Earth! You can also share your files with other people.
Free accounts get 1GB of space and a 5MB file limit (which is low; but is obviously to stop TV uploads). However, for $5 a month, you can get 5GB of space and unlimited filesizes. Also, on the $5 you have the ability to create groups and the such. But for $10 a month you can get 15GB and unlimited file sizes and unlimited groups. On paid accounts you can also post files to blogs. On all accounts you can share your files privately with friends or any machine with W2K or higher.
You can create, compress and rename folders and you can upload a file either through a normal upload form or a Java-powered drag and drop. I would like it to auto refresh the folder view though after a drag and drop upload. The site has quite a bit of Ajax, but not in excess unlike many others.
I aplogise for the briefness of this review, I just wanted to write something fairly quickly.
Now, I beg you to join using this link as when another 4 people join - I get a free $5 account! ![]()

I’ve applied via your link. All being well I will get an account soon. The email notifications seem to be rather slow.

Isn’t it cool? I really like the design of it…
