At the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, it was announced that the Nintendo DS will have a web browser and TV tuner add-on, to give it fair ground against the PSP.
The web browser will be made by Opera, but will not support Java, Flash or Acrobat. It will have two viewing modes, handwriting support, a zoom tool, bookmarks and it will run on both the DS and DS Lite. It will be released in Japan in June, and will cost approx $30 (around £20); no UK or US release dates yet. A video of this and the TV tuner is here. And a more detailed, really good write-up is at Portable Gaming World. Also, according to PortaGame, the DS will also have VoIP support.
As a DS owner, I’m quite excited over this. If I knew this I may not have bought that laptop this weekend!
