Jumping in to Web Dev

Okay, this weekend I’m going to make a WordPress plug-in of some sort. I’m not really a web developer, but I’m going to make a nice little script as my starter. I’m not very experienced with PHP or WordPress plug-in development. So if anyone could send me links to guides, I’d appreciate it.
