Sick of the New ‘Technology’

Misc. — Joe Anderson @ 10:44 am Saturday 14 January 2006

Now, why is this? When I open up newspaper on Friday, I only see three things to do with computers. Something about high-def DVDs, something pointless on how online newspaper circulation has gone up and then something about a new WiFi technology. You know what? I couldn’t care about either three.

None of these appeal to me. Okay. Why would I want any high-def DVDs? I rarely watch s, and when I do, it’s on my PC. So, I ask why the interest? 1 reason. Many big companies are risking a lot by choosing one format. I’m personally not planning on buying and HD-DVDs until the war is won by someone. I don’t want to be the holder of the Betamax.

Okay, secondly. What importance does a websites hits have? None. It is bound to grow. The internet is growing.

Finally, this new WiFi thing was . I’ve never had much of an interest in WiFi. Partly, as I’m not a laptop user (nor fan) and secondly, I though the technology took a while to become mainstream. Fair enough - it’s very useful, as I’ve seen with the Palm. Still, it will never replace a good wired connection.

Don’t you get sick of this type of tech too?
