Follow-up to previous message (15-Jul): I've got the DS to connect to WAG54G v1.2!! I'm using WEP encryption, and I set the DS to a fixed IP. I used 192.168.1.101, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, the gateway is 192.168.1.1 (this is important), and the primary DNS server to 212.159.6.10. These numbers are from the router settings, EXCEPT the gateway for which you don't use the number from the router, but the number I give above. I also had to switch the router to wireless network mode 802.11b (not 802.11g), and updated the firmware to 1.02.7 (see webpage above - it's the _AnnexA_ETSI_v1.02.7 file I used), however I don't recommend updating the firmware until you've tried the other things first. It took several hours of web-trawling and fiddling with the router to get this to work, so I hope it's useful to someone.

I have the Linksys WAG54G, but v1.2 rather than v2. It's not working with the Nintendo DS, so I tried the firmware update mentioned here. It doesn't work. I get a message saying "document contains no data" (after the progress bar has reached the end). The router gets reset (the lights go out, then come back on again), then the progress bar starts from zero again and just keeps cycling around. I waited an hour, and then gave up. It looks like the v1.2 may be one of the routers that simply doesn't work with the DS....very annoying....

I thought I had found the answer, but no I can still not get my sons ds to work so here are some questions

1 I use MAC filters, the ds mac code is in but could this be the problem ?

2 Do you have to use WEP, I have tried it with and without, - open - still no joy. I know it will not work with WPA

? did you have to do anything else apart from the firmware upgrade
