Why would anyone want a Google Mug or Google Lavalamp? I know these are just novelties but surely no one loves Google that much!
I think anyone caught with any Google branded tangible object should be laughed at. But those lava lamps do look nice…. (but ?40 is too much!)
Squik.com is a directory of links, which are put into an order which is really understandable to a normal human brain, by users rating them ‘
is this better than…‘
The idea is quite good, but the links they give you are random and one may be about the ins and outs of PHP and the other about dog walking. This isn’t good, as for example a Firefox fan isn’t exactly going to say an IE fan site is better than a Firefox site, and may even rate it to corrupt the system.
An idea to fix this would be when you choose a ‘tag’ (basically a keyword) to browse you have the option to rate between these sites, and none from other tags.
One thing this site could become is a great search engine, where users rate the sites they search for and are listed in that order, over popularity which would allow things like link swaps to increase popularity.
What do you think?
What a strange thing to write about, but I love it, my bin! I think my bin is one of the best in the world; why? Have a look. The bin if you can’t already tell is branded with the Coca-Cola logo, which I think is very classy! It also is Italian as it has
Bevete Coca-Cola
which is roughly translated:
You drink Coca-Cola
I don’t know how old it is but it’s certainly pre 1990s, does anyone here know it’s age? If you do, please comment on it.
The Crazy Frog ringtone has revved straight to the top of the charts, beating nearest rival Coldplay to the number one slot.
The new version of Axel F - the theme to the Beverly Hills Cop films - is the first mobile ringtone to make it into the charts.
HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said the tune’s success was down to “its huge novelty appeal”.
The Crazy Frog brought Oasis’s brief flirtation with the top spot to an end.

I’m no fan of Crazy Frog, or Oasis, but how an Earth did Crazy Frog beat Oasis? An annoying ringtone based around Beverly Hills tune, which to be fair is quite good, but then a frog making an annoying noise while flashing his bits, how on Earth is this even legal?
I couldn’t agree more with Neil at http://www.neilturner.me.uk/2005/Mar/29/crazy_frog_remix.html, and the insanity test drove everyone insane, but now it’s bloody mobile!
I hope those folks at Jamster don’t sleep at night as they both rip-off and torture the British population. Also, they torture the Germans, as Jamster is a subsidiary of the German company Jamba who are in turn a subsidiary of Verisign, an American company! Phew, I got all of that out!
At least a video of Crazy Frog being ran over by a train is floating around the net!
Updated Deer Park Alpha 1 Release Candidates - MozillaZine Talkback.
As previously reported, Deer Park Alpha 1 will be the first developer preview of Mozilla Firefox 1.1.
.
Comment: It’s good to see the new version of the great coming around, especially now that it’s available to the general public. I’ve made a few little notes about Deer Park below:
- Sanitize Feature; allows you to easily wipe things like history
- Most old extensions work, however old thmes don’t work very well as the sanitize windows isn’t skinned and the options windows has a new layout and isn’t
- It can co-exist with Firefox
- It has a built-in tool for contacting evangelists
Most of this is good, but the new features make old themes often block the program, so there’s barely a point for them. Otherwise the browser is the same, on the front end anyway. It’s worth a download though. Download information is located here
